The LBA is pleased to present our first community service opportunities for the year!
1. Holiday Season Food Drive
The collection box is located in the clerk’s office and donations can be dropped off between 8:00 and 4:00 Monday- Friday.
A couple items are currently in high demand, including: low sodium canned soups, low sodium canned veggies, cereal, spaghetti, boxed mac and cheese, whole grain pasta and rice, canned tuna and chicken, paper products, baby food, formula, diapers, soap, and toothbrushes. Other items to consider include: cake mix, frosting, coffee, oil.
2. Angel Tree for Foster Care Children
The Lynchburg Bar Association with the Lynchburg J&D Clerks Office is organizing an Angel Tree for children in foster care through Lynchburg Department of Social Services. There are 20 children in need of a sponsor this holiday season, some that are even in residential placements. Suggested gifts include toys, books, clothes, and shoes.
Stop by the Lynchburg J&D Clerks office to get an Angel Tree slip with the age and specific gift ideas for a specific child. Unwrapped gifts can be returned to the Clerk’s office until December 20.
