The Lynchburg Bar Association is a voluntary professional organization with members who work to improve the legal profession and the administration of justice in Central Virginia. The Lynchburg Bar is active in our community and consists of a tight knit group of lawyers.
Our lawyers pride themselves on being a part of a community of professionals. The LBA provides many benefits to the attorneys practicing in the 24th judicial district well beyond just the Lynchburg City limits.
For example, LBA offers professional development conferences during the spring and fall of each year inviting speakers among the bench and bar in our area to help educate each other on the best practices both substantively and procedurally. LBA also offers monthly luncheons where we provide the forum for professional networking for attorneys young, old, and everywhere in between. The relationships built on these forums are invaluable to the practice of law in our community. Additionally, LBA provides free CLE opportunities for its dues paying members at least once every year.
Beyond serving the legal community in the greater Lynchburg area, the LBA also serves the community as a whole. Every year the LBA sponsors and puts on the Rule of Law program in all of the local high schools where practicing lawyers teach students about the role the law plays in our society. The students and teachers enjoy learning new things about our system that may not be depicted on television.
